How It Works

- Coolant is delivered to the surface of the nasal cavity at room temperature
- Coolant rapidly evaporates due to air/oxygen gas flow
- Surface of nasal cavity cools due to evaporation
- Brain and body is cooled through direct conduction pre-ROSC
- Upon return of circulation, the brain and body are cooled through indirect convection as the cooled circulating blood removes heat hematogenously
