Fred Colen – President and Chief Executive Officer
Fred Colen has over 30 years’ experience in the field of medical technology, and has held various senior management roles at Boston Scientific Corporation over a period of more than ten years. From 2006 to 2010, he served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Technology, then as President, of the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Group. He joined Boston Scientific as Vice President of Cardiovascular Research and Development for Scimed Life Systems, the company’s cardiovascular division. He was rapidly promoted to Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, where he directed research, technology, and product development for the entire company. Most recently, Mr. Colen has been acting as a consultant to venture capitalists specializing in medical technology, advising on early investment in emerging medical device technologies.
Becky Inderbitzen, MSE – Vice President of Clinical Affairs
Becky Inderbitzen has more than 20 years of experience in the research and development of life support equipment and medical devices, with an emphasis on preclinical and clinical testing. She brings key experience from InnerCool Therapies where she oversaw the preclinical development of an endovascular thermoregulatory system and directed clinical studies utilizing therapeutic hypothermia in neurointensive and acute care settings. Prior to InnerCool, she had extensive involvement in the preclinical development of interventional and minimally invasive surgical cardiovascular devices for Guidant. Ms. Inderbitzen holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and University of Southern California, respectively.
John Hoffman – Vice President of Research and Development
John Hoffman holds degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering and has over 24 years experience developing equipment and instrumentation in the fields of Medical Research, Physical Sciences and Semiconductor Processing. Most recently he was a Senior Project Engineer at RoboDesign. Prior to that he was a Principal Engineer at Alliance Pharmaceutical, where he was developing devices for liquid ventilation.
