Fred Colen – President and Chief Executive Officer

Fred Colen has over 30 years’ experience in the field of medical technology, and has held various senior management roles at Boston Scientific Corporation over a period of more than ten years. From 2006 to 2010, he served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Technology, then as President, of the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Group. He joined Boston Scientific as Vice President of Cardiovascular Research and Development for Scimed Life Systems, the company’s cardiovascular division. He was rapidly promoted to Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, where he directed research, technology, and product development for the entire company. Most recently, Mr. Colen has been acting as a consultant to venture capitalists specializing in medical technology, advising on early investment in emerging medical device technologies.

John Estill-Vice President Finance & Accounting

John Estill has been involved with BeneChill since 2005. He has over 30 years’ experience in the medical device field. Working in various start-up companies, he has helped bring numerous medical devices to market including the FirstTemp® tympanic thermometer and the BlueSky Medical Negative Pressure Wound Care products. He has held roles of COO, CFO and CEO.

Del Doty – Director of Engineering

Del Doty has 20 years of diverse product development experience, including high and low volume product commercialization.  His background includes 8 years of medical device design and he has served in other technology based industries such as telecommunications, automotive, and wireless devices.   In his most recent position, Del helped deliver Eastman Kodak’s first consumer inkjet printer to the marketplace.  With that experience comes extensive expertise in materials and manufacturing. He has worked with vertically integrated in-house manufacturing as well as with external component and product level supply chains from the US, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and South Africa.

Hanh Dang, MBA – Quality and Compliance Director

Hanh Dang has 10 years of experience in quality, manufacturing and research and development in the biotechnology field. Ms. Dang joined the Company in 2009 and has played a key role in the areas of quality and operations through the commercialization of the RhinoChill System. Ms. Dang holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Master of Business and Administration degree granted by the University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University, respectively.

Joseph DeStefani-Manufacturing Manager

Joseph DeStefani joined BeneChill in November 2007. He has over 15 years of diverse experience in the medical device, semiconductor, and rheology industries. He has extensive experience in the United States, Asia, Europe providing engineering, manufacturing, and field related services. Joe specializes in supporting and developing startup companies. Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing & Design Engineering.
