In 2003, the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) recommended cooling after resuscitation post-cardiac arrest (Nolan et al., Circulation, 2003 Jul 8;108(1):118-21).
In 2005, the American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed this recommendation in their periodic update to their guidelines for the management of cardiac arrest (Part 7.5: Postresuscitation Support, Circulation, 2005 112[Suppl I]:IV-84-88).
